¡Más Conspiranoia! Geronimo, Bush y Las Calaveras y Huesos

Geronimo's family call on Bush to help return his skeleton
By Andrew Buncombe in Washington

The great grandson of the Apache leader Geronimo has appealed to the big chief in the White House to help recover the remains of his famous relative - purportedly stolen more than 90 years ago by a group of students - including the President's grandfather.

The story that members of Yale University's secret Skull and Bones society took the remains - including a skull and femur - from the burial site in Fort Sill, Oklahoma, has long been part of the university's lore. But a university historian recently recovered a letter from 1918 that appears to support the story that members of the society did indeed take the remains while serving with a group of army volunteers from Yale, stationed at the fort during the First World War.

GERONIMO HEIR SEEKS RETURN OF BONES
Friday, June 02, 2006 - FreeMarketNews.com

The descendants of Geronimo are asking President George W. Bush to intercede in their efforts to recover the skeletal remains of the great Apache leader. According to a London Independent story, the bones were stolen by Yale University students, as part of their Skull and Bones Society antics, some 90 years ago, from the warrior's burial-site in Fort Sill, Oklahoma.

A Yale historian recently discovered a letter from 1918 that would seem to corroborate the long-standing rumor that the students did take the remains, while they were serving as Army volunteers and stationed at the fort near the end of World War I. Those students supposedly included Bush's grandfather, Prescott. The lore of the S&B society is reported to include a ritual of kissing a skull, which is referred to as "Geronimo" and normally kept in a glass case.

Leading the quest to restore their ancestor's remains to its proper place is the great chieftain's great-grandson, Harlyn Geronimo, who reportedly says in his letter to Bush: "I am requesting his help in getting [them] ... To return the dignity and let his spirits rest in peace ... is important in our tradition." - ST
